The tool: search_stories

country | "IN" or "US", required | The market the story affects. |
query | text, optional | Words to look for: a company, a commodity or a topic, such as "crude oil" or "Reliance". |
hours | 1 to 48, default 24 | How far back to look. Stories older than 48 hours are not kept. |
limit | 1 to 10, default 5 | Stories per page. |
cursor | text, optional | The next_cursor of the previous page of the same search. |
Each story has a headline, a summary, one sentence on what the story reports about the instruments it is linked to, the instruments themselves, and up to three sources with links. The result also carries total, next_cursor and a code of OK or NO_DATA.

Limits and errors

| More than 60 requests a minute or 2,000 a day from one address | HTTP 429, RATE_LIMITED, with Retry-After |
| Arguments outside the ranges above, or a cursor from a different search | INVALID_INPUT |
| No stories match | An empty list with code: "NO_DATA" |
| A web page on a site that is not on our allow list calls the server | HTTP 403, FORBIDDEN_ORIGIN |
What to expect
This is news information, not investment advice. Summaries and the sentence about each story are written by software from the published article and may contain errors; follow the source links for the original reporting.
- Only stories that pass our relevance check are returned, so a quiet day returns few stories.
- Search matches words; it does not interpret a question.
- Coverage of the United States is newer and thinner than coverage of India.
- The service is a beta and may change.

Privacy and contact
For rate limiting we record a salted one-way hash of the caller's IP address and the HTTP method, deleted after two days. We do not store the address itself or what you search for. See the privacy policy and terms.
